Shape Hunt TK worksheet

- Ages 4-5
- About 8 minutes
- Early Math
- You need: Crayon or pencil
Level
Find circles, then triangles, in two grids that include rectangles.
Ink
Paper
A note for parents
Sorting shapes by what makes them different, not by size or color, is early geometry thinking. Big, small, thin and tall rectangles are all still rectangles.
How to help
- Name the shape before searching: "Let us find every triangle."
- Run a finger along the edges and count the corners together.
- Use a crayon to circle; it is easier than a pencil.
Choose "Actual size" or "100%" when printing. A4 is 210 x 297 mm; US Letter is 8.5 x 11 in. The black-and-white version uses less ink.
