About Little Compass TK

Free, simple printables for four- and five-year-olds, made by a parent for her own child and shared with everyone.

Why I made this site

Hi, I am a parent of a four-and-a-half-year-old who is about to start transitional kindergarten. My daughter loves to paint and loves to count. Whenever I went looking for printable practice, I found sheets that were buried under ads, asked me to sign up, or were written for teachers rather than for a tired parent at the end of a workday. I wanted something short, clear and calm that I could print in a minute and sit down with her.

So I started making worksheets myself. She is the inspiration for everything here: the counting pages, the pictures to color, the shapes and patterns, and the little drawing prompts all came from watching what holds her attention.

Free, with no account

Every worksheet on this site is free to download and print. There is no login, no email sign-up and no payment, and there never will be one for the worksheets. You can use them at home, in a classroom or in a co-op, anywhere in the world. The site is supported by ads, which helps cover the cost of running it, but the worksheets themselves will always stay free.

What you will find here

What is coming next

I will keep adding new worksheets for as long as my daughter enjoys painting and counting, and that already looks like a long time. That includes seasonal sets for holidays and times of year, and more pages for each week of the plan. If you have an idea or a request, I would love to hear it.

How the worksheets are made

What "TK" means here

Transitional kindergarten (TK) is a year of school between preschool and kindergarten for children who are four or about to turn five. Different places call it different things, such as pre-K, junior kindergarten or reception. The weekly plan is built around the kinds of skills these classrooms focus on. This is an independent family project and is not affiliated with any school district or education agency. The worksheets are practice for home and are not a substitute for a teacher or for professional advice.
