A note for parents
Tracing the big and little versions of each letter builds letter recognition and pencil control at the same time. It takes about 10 minutes; it is fine to do one letter per sitting.
How to help
- Say the letter name and its sound as they trace.
- Point out that each letter has a big and a little version.
- Use the empty cells at the end of each line for free writing.
Choose "Actual size" or "100%" when printing. A4 is 210 x 297 mm; US Letter is 8.5 x 11 in. The black-and-white version uses less ink.
